Heifers are synchronized and a.i. bred by Select Sires and ultra sounded by Dr. Ralph Miller .  A.I. bred heifers will be sorted by size, embryo sex, and Calving dates. The heifers will start calving March 2nd , and will sell with 20 day calving periods. they will also be preg checked the week of the sale by our Local Vets.

The Blk and Bwf heifers are bred to the Angus breeds most proven sires for calving ease. The three sires are Decatur, Bar Ext, and Bextor. Their EPD averages are b.w.-0.3,  w.w.+38,  y.w.+75,  m.m.+26.  

          Red heifers are a.i. bred to Heavenly, a purebred red angus bull, and his epd’s are as follows: b.w.-3.6, w.w.+25, y.w.+38,  m.m.+28. Low birth weight purebred Summitcrest angus bulls were used for cleanup.  There is a set of red heifers that will calve from Feb. 13 to 15.

            We have sold the kovar heifers for the past several years.  The quality, condition, disposition, and breeding process of these heifers will make this a sale you won’t want to miss. If you need bred heifers, plan now to attend, as this is Central Iowa’s largest offering of bred heifers.
